Carol Chorbajian
Carol Chorbajian, Managing Director of CCM&E Destination Services, has been a Monterey Peninsula resident since 1976 when she relocated from New York to attend Monterey Institute of International Studies, where she earned her master's degree in Intercultural Communications.
Carol's long career in hospitality and destination management began in her student years as a bilingual tour guide for Holiday Tours, Inc., where she rose through the ranks in various program and operations positions. Carol went on to become a General Manager and Vice President for USA Hosts, Ltd., a large nationwide destination management company (DMC) headquartered in Las Vegas, NV. In 2002, Carol founded CCM&E Destination Services.
Carol has been active in the local hospitality industry community for decades, with past volunteer leadership positions held as Board Member and Chairperson of the Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau (MCCVB), Board Member and President of the Monterey County Hospitality Association (MCHA), Board Director of the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce (MPCC) and Visitors & Convention Bureau. In 1994 she was named Hospitality Professional of the Year by MCHA.
Currently Carol serves as VP, Finance of the SITE (Society for Incentive Travel Excellence) Northern California Chapter, Member of the City of Monterey Measure P&S Oversight Committee, Board Member of the Rancho Cielo Chef Advisory Board, Treasurer, Monterey County Business PAC, Treasurer, Monterey Peninsula Taxpayers Association, and President of Monterey Wine Education Foundation, a non-profit whose sole purpose is to create scholarship funds in the fields of enology, viticulture, and hospitality. After 21 years of volunteer service, Carol Chorbajian was recognized by Monterey Wine Educational Foundation for her commitment to the organization and the industry with the establishment of a National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation scholarship in her name.
Appointed to the Monterey Peninsula Airport District Board of Directors on June 20, 2024.
